Meet Kourtney Brown

Welcome to SpeakEasy! My name is Kourtney Brown, and I am a member of the American Speech Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) and a licensed and registered Speech Pathologist. I am dedicated to building trusting relationships with my clients, their families, and other key individuals in their lives in order to help them achieve their communication goals.

I received my Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders and my Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Texas at Austin. I began my career at a private pediatric clinic in San Francisco, California where I evaluated, assessed and treated children with diverse speech, language, learning and social emotional disorders. I continued my career in New York City, where I had the opportunity to treat individuals across all ages with a range of needs in various settings including public and private schools, homes, and private practices/clinics.

I am trained in the following programs: PROMPT 1, Natural Language Acquisition GLP + AAC, Zones of Regulation, a variety of pediatric feeding courses by Melanie Potock, Social Thinking 101, Kaufman Apraxia Training, LAMP (Language Acquisition through Motor Planning), methods of The Writing Revolution: A Hochmann Method, and I am an an Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and Assistive Technology consultant and service provider.

My goal is to help children build the communication skills they need and create an environment where they feel comfortable, confident, and empowered. At Speakeasy, we build lifelong relationships with our clients and their families, supporting them on their journey towards improved communication and increased enjoyable life experiences!
